SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (September 16, 2025) – Utah will take the global sports spotlight September 19-20 as two premier events arrive in The State of Sport. Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby X Finals Weekend and the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup Finals will bring world-class sports and entertainment to The Ballpark at America First Square and America First Field.
The action begins September 19-20 with Home Run Derby X, a fast-paced 3-on-3 co-ed showcase featuring MLB legends alongside stars from softball and women’s baseball. Following a six-stop U.S. tour, The Ballpark at America First Square, the new home of the Salt Lake Bees, will host the Finals Weekend where the 2025 Derby X champion will be crowned.
On September 20, four rugby nations—Canada, Fiji, Japan and Tonga—close out the Pacific Nations Cup at America First Field, home of Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals. For the first time in history, the finals will be staged on U.S. soil, with Utah hosting both the championship match and the third-place playoff. Newly added to the day’s lineup, Samoa and Chile will now meet in a Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifier, giving Utah fans three high-stakes games in one day.
