Employees from Miller Sports + Entertainment, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals FC, Megaplex and the Salt Lake Bees participated in the 16th annual Larry H. Miller Week of Service April 27 – May 2. They made blankets and quilts, prepped meals for kids in need, cleaned up the Jordan River, cleaned the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Boys & Girls Club and ran youth baseball and soccer clinics.
Each organization contributed in various ways throughout the week:
Megaplex
- The Legacy Crossing, Junction, Providence and University Megaplex locations volunteered at Youth Impact in Ogden.
- The District, Valley Fair and Park City Megaplex locations served at the Utah Food Bank, where they processed 3,900 pounds of bread.
- The Gateway, Cottonwood and Jordan Commons Megaplex locations served at the Tracy Aviary, helping them clear out an area and plant plants and bushes around the barn owl enclosure.
- Employees from Megaplex at Downtown Daybreak served at the Daybreak library down the street, helping them with groundskeeping and projects inside the building.
- The Geneva, Thanksgiving Point and Pleasant Grove locations sorted canned foods and produce at Tabitha’s Way, a food pantry that helps many families in Utah County.
- Employees from Megaplex Cedar City pulled weeds and did grounds cleanup at the Frontier Homestead State Park, and they helped make wooden toys at the Happy Factory.
Salt Lake Bees
- Bees staff and athletes participated in Miracle League. Miracle League is a specialized baseball program for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities, utilizing custom-designed, rubberized turf fields to accommodate wheelchairs and prevent injuries. Players and staff helped kids hit and run the bases, and they led cheers with participants.
Real Salt Lake/Utah Royals FC
- RSL and Royals athletes visited the Primary Children’s Hospital and spent time with the children staying there.
- Athletes also participated in soccer clinics at the Miller Family Club.
“The Larry H. Miller Company is dedicated to enriching lives through service, and Miller Sports + Entertainment is honored to carry that tradition forward,” said Michelle Smith, president of Miller Sports + Entertainment. “We’re grateful our athletes, coaches and staff invested their time and talents in serving across the community.”
