SANDY, UT (July 22, 2025) – The Miller family and Miller Sports + Entertainment (MSE), proud stewards of professional sports and community-building in Utah, are pleased to announce the addition of prominent local investors to RSL Football Holdings (the Club), which includes Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer (MLS), the Utah Royals FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the Real Monarchs (MLS NEXT Pro) and the RSL Academy (MLS NEXT). Matt Hawkins, Nick Greer, Jeremy and Kristin Andrus, and the Berman family—respected Utah entrepreneurs and community leaders committed to strengthening the Club and the state of Utah—have joined the ownership group.
This strategic expansion of RSL Football Holdings’ ownership group emphasizes a commitment to elevating soccer in Utah, while deepening investments in youth sports and local community initiatives.
“Our family believes in the power of sports to unite, uplift, and inspire,” said Steve Miller, Chairman and Governor for RSL and the Utah Royals FC, and Chairman of the Larry H. Miller Company Board of Directors. “Bringing in local partners who share our love for Utah will help ensure our clubs continue to thrive both on and off the field.”
“We are excited to welcome these proven business and community leaders to the Miller Sports + Entertainment family,” said Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company. “They have a proven track record of leading world-class organizations and are committed to building championship teams.”
The new investors bring diverse experience across business, philanthropy, and community engagement:

“This is about more than sports,” said Greer. “RSL, the Utah Royals FC, and our affiliated teams showcase the possibility for young athletes to dream big, work hard and become resilient. It is the ethos of our great state, and I couldn’t be more proud to join the Club.”
“I’m thrilled to join this incredible group of leaders,” said Hawkins. “I believe in building organizations that create positive, lasting impact, and RSL is exactly that—a platform to support athletes, young players, fans, and Utah families.”
“Jeremy and I care deeply about Utah, and we see this as an opportunity to give back through something we love and where our family spends a lot of our time together—sports,” said Kristin Andrus. “RSL and the Utah Royals have the power to bring people together and lift up every corner of our community.”
“Sports are a catalyst for connection and confidence,” added Jeremy Andrus. “We’re honored to be part of an organization that brings energy and passion to fans and families across Utah.”
“Being part of the Club is more than an investment—it’s a commitment to our future.” said Matt Berman. “This is about building something generational for Utah, where soccer is not just a game, but a shared source of inspiration and joy.”
Together, the expanded ownership group will focus on fostering excellence on the pitch, while investing in facilities, programs, and community outreach.
ABOUT REAL SALT LAKE CLUB
The Miller family and Miller Sports + Entertainment acquired RSL Football Holdings from David Blitzer in April 2025, with Blitzer remaining the second largest owner.
Real Salt Lake commenced its 21st Major League Soccer season this February, its fourth full season under Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni, who started out leading RSL on an interim basis for the final 100 days in 2021. RSL is the lone Western Conference team to have advanced to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in each of the last four campaigns, amassing 14 postseason appearances in the last 17 years, notably in six of the last seven seasons.
RSL’s MLS Cup 2009 victory marked the state of Utah’s only major professional championship in nearly 40 years, the title preceding a historic run to the 2010/11 CONCACAF Champions League Final. Buoyed by a passionate fan base, boasting several thousand season ticket holders and the “RioT” Supporters Group, RSL opened its permanent home in Sandy just over 16 years ago. Since October 2008, RSL has recorded a 179-72-90 (W-L-T) mark at America First Field, achieving a 1.84 points per game average and a 0.657 win pct—truly amazing value propositions in the North American sporting landscape today.
Beginning with the 2024 season, Real Salt Lake ownership brought the National Women’s Soccer League back to Utah, returning the Utah Royals FC to the state. Led by Sporting Director Kelly Cousins and Head Coach Jimmy Coenraets, Utah Royals FC aims to seize upon the astounding success of the NWSL and tremendous strength of women’s soccer in Utah.
In 2015, the Club expanded its development pyramid with the addition of the Real Monarchs. Since the 2022 season, the Real Monarchs have competed in the “MLS NEXT Pro”, which connects youth academies in MLS NEXT to first teams in MLS. There are currently over 60 student athletes representing the RSL Academy’s U-16 and U-18 teams in MLS NEXT.
All teams call the expansive Zions Bank Training Center in Herriman, Utah their daily training home. The 42-acre campus includes five world-class grass fields, two indoor turf fields, a residential dormitory, and the 5,000-seat Zions Bank Stadium. Exactly one year ago, the Utah Royals FC opened an 11,000+ square-foot expansion to the training site to give the Utah Royals FC their own exclusive world-class facility resources.
